About the role:

Due to ongoing and continued success, we are looking for an ambitious Accounts Assistant to join our thriving finance team. This truly is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business in a role with a huge scope for development. The working hours for this role are Monday – Friday between the hours of 09:00 – 17:30 with a one-hour break for lunch.


As an Accounts Assistant at Churchill Support Services, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Purchase Ledger, ensuring all supplier accounts are accurate and up to date.
  • Processing payments to suppliers and other expenses.
  • Managing cashbook and reconciliations for all bank accounts, credit cards and petty cash.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date General Ledger accounts and books of prime entry.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Month End Working Papers including calculation of accruals and prepayments and recurring journal postings
  • Liaising with budget holders providing ongoing support and analysis for cost management.
  • Ensure processes, systems and procedures across the finance function are operating, identifying issues and recommending solutions.





  • Experience with Purchase Ledger processing and cost management
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position
  • Competent use of Sage Accounting Software – Sage 50 essential, Sage 200 desirable
  • Intermediate Excel skills – including use of functions, vlookups, pivot tables
  • Awareness of structure for statutory financial statements



  • AAT qualified or studying towards Level 4
  • Experience reviewing/creating budgets and forecasts
  • Knowledge of PowerBi
