About the role:

We are searching for a resourceful, enthusiastic, team-spirited wordsmith to join our business as a Creative Copywriter.

You’ll work on devising and delivering a range of content for use across both digital and traditional platforms that helps to effectively promote Churchill and its services, as well as enhance the group brand.

You will be required to support both the digital, management and sales teams in developing high-quality written content, including brochures, whitepapers, websites, sales guides and tender responses, marketing plans, infographic copy, emails and presentations.

 

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the key activities and responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Conduct extensive research in order to create original, valuable written content.
  • Create concise, engaging, original and error-free copy.
  • Generate impactful Security & Facilities Management industry news posts by analysing trends and developments.
  • Prepare and create specialised, relevant, informative and compelling marketing materials, overall service descriptions, features, blog content for our websites, white papers, sales support materials (e.g. slide decks, email templates, case studies and tender responses).
  • Write high-engagement social media content that reflects our brand’s voice.
  • Create meaningful connections with relevant target audiences by delivering regular, tailored and valuable content.
  • Work well within the team by providing insights, contributions and feedback regarding ongoing digital marketing strategies.
  • Produce error-free content that adheres to the company’s guidelines.
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines.
  • Propose copy concepts and present underlying strategic thinking to business leaders.
  • Work with the Marketing & Digital team to ensure that the visual elements of the webpage complement the words.
  • Identify fresh and interesting angles for your articles.
  • Interpret copywriting briefs to understand project requirements.
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed.

 

 

The person specification, skills, knowledge and competencies required for the role are as follows:

 

Essential:

  • Be educated to degree level with a relevant qualification.
  • At least two years’ experience in a copywriting role.
  • Excellent skills in writing with proven experience in creating copy for a multitude of platforms, including the ability to write in different styles and to other people’s direction.
  • An exceptional eye for detail, and meticulous proofreading skills.
  • Great communication skills with an ability to investigate a brief and bring it to life in words.
  • Ability to follow creative direction.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories.
  • A creative ability to devise and deliver compelling campaigns.
  • An exceptional grasp of grammar and the English language.
  • Good research and analytical skills to gain an accurate understanding of the subject in question.
  • The ability to manage and deliver multiple projects, often to tight deadlines.
  • A creative approach, both in coming up with ideas for new projects and for getting a message across innovatively.
  • The ability to work independently and flexibly.
  • An understanding of digital marketing and search engine optimisation (SEO).
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualifications, including CIM, CPD or CIPR, would be advantageous.
  • Graphic design capabilities and the ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud or similar.
  • Understanding of the B2B Security & Facilities sector and the relevant technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress).
  • Relevant experience developing content for marketing campaigns across a wide range of channels including social media, web, blogs, email and print marketing.
